PU Roller Wheel
PU Roller Wheel FAQs
What you may want to know about PU Roller Wheel
AstraRoll PU Roller Wheels consist of a high-strength metal core (steel or stainless steel) coated with premium polyurethane (PU) elastomer. Combining excellent wear resistance, high friction grip, shock absorption, quiet operation, and surface protection, these rollers are widely used in logistics, packaging, printing, electronics, furniture, glass processing, and high-end product conveying lines.
Compared with nylon, rubber, and metal rollers, PU rollers offer stronger grip, higher load capacity, quieter running, and better protection for delicate or finished surfaces. They perform reliably under continuous operation and maintain elasticity without cracking, making them ideal for conveying scenarios requiring non-slip, non-scratch, and low-noise performance.
Material Structure & Core Design
Our PU rollers use a precision steel or stainless steel core for structural rigidity and torque resistance, with strict surface treatment to ensure strong adhesion between PU layer and core. The PU coating is available in general-purpose, high-wear, food-grade, and anti-static formulations. The vulcanization bonding process prevents peeling, bubbling, or delamination even under long-term pressure and high-speed rotation.
Hardness & Performance Characteristics
PU hardness can be customized from 50 Shore A to 95 Shore A to suit different applications.
- Soft PU (50–70A): Gentle contact, excellent shock absorption, used for fragile, painted, or polished surfaces.
- Medium hardness (70–85A): Balanced grip and wear resistance, the most widely used grade for conveyors and power transmission.
- High hardness (85–95A): High load capacity, outstanding wear resistance, suitable for heavy conveying, driving rollers, and high-wear environments.
Grip, Wear Resistance & Operational Stability
PU provides significantly higher friction than nylon or PP, effectively preventing slippage in inclined, driven, or high-speed conveying. Its outstanding wear resistance extends service life by 3–5 times longer than rubber. PU also absorbs vibration and reduces noise, ensuring stable and quiet running even under heavy loads.
Surface Protection & Non-Scratch Performance
One of the biggest advantages of PU rollers is their non-abrasive surface. They do not scratch painted panels, glass, aluminum profiles, plastic parts, cartons, or electronic casings, making them irreplaceable in high-value product assembly and logistics lines.
Industry Adaptability & Application Scenarios
PU Roller Wheels are widely used in powered conveyors, inclined conveyors, sorting lines, glass and mirror processing, furniture handling, printing and laminating machines, electronic product assembly lines, and airport luggage systems. They are also suitable for food-grade environments with FDA-compliant PU materials.
Customization & Compatibility
We provide full customization of roller diameter, face width, PU thickness, core material, shaft structure, keyways, and sprocket mounting. We also offer grooved, tapered, and flat-profile rollers. All sizes can be designed to directly replace existing rollers without equipment modification.
