Stainless Steel Food Service Casters Manufacturer

Product Overview:
The AstraRoll Stainless Steel Solid Polyurethane Caster is the ultimate mobility solution for extreme washdown and corrosive environments. Designed specifically for the Food & Beverage, Medical, and Pharmaceutical industries, the housing is stamped from high-grade 304 Stainless Steel with a double ball raceway to ensure zero rust and buttery-smooth swiveling. The true standout is the Solid Polyurethane (PU) wheel. Unlike standard wheels that bond a PU tread to a plastic or metal core, our one-piece solid PU construction completely eliminates the risk of tread separation or debonding caused by water ingress and harsh chemical sanitizers. Equipped with water-resistant stainless steel bearings, these casters safely support up to 1,000 lbs per wheel, providing superior floor protection and indestructible performance in the most punishing sanitary environments.
Load Capacity: Medium-Duty Casters
Wheel Type: Nylon, Polyurethane
Wheel Diameter: 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, 6 inch, 8 inch, Customizable

Product Features & Engineering Specs
100% Washdown Ready: Every component—from the 304 SS rig to the stainless steel axle bolt and lock nut—is designed to be sprayed down daily with high-pressure steam and sanitizers without degrading.
Heavy-Duty Load Capacity: The solid polyurethane wheel provides exceptional structural integrity, safely supporting between 400 lbs and 1,000 lbs per caster without flat-spotting under heavy static loads.
Floor Protection & Debris Rejection: The non-marking PU tread offers a slightly softer ride than nylon or steel, absorbing vibration, rolling silently over tile or epoxy, and naturally repelling metal shavings and debris.
Extreme Chemical Resistance: Highly impervious to motor oils, greases, lactic acids, saltwater, and commercial cleaning solvents.
Sanitary Bearing Options: Custom-configured for your exact environment. Choose Delrin (POM) Bearings for 100% rust-proof performance in wet environments, or Stainless Steel Precision Ball Bearings for maximum load and easiest rolling.

Why Choose AstraRoll?
Precision Engineering & Safety
High-Tolerance Double Ball Raceways: Our stainless steel swivel heads are precision-stamped to eliminate the "slop" or excessive play common in lower-quality stainless rigs, ensuring stable, effortless steering for heavy meat carts and bakery racks.
Zerk Fittings for Maintenance: Available with stainless steel grease zerks on the swivel raceway and wheel hub, allowing your maintenance team to flush out old grease and moisture to extend the caster's lifespan indefinitely.
Customization & Fleet Integration
Tread Profiles: Available in crown (donut) treads for improved ergonomic pushing and turning, or flat treads for maximum load distribution on soft floors.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Should I choose Delrin (POM) bearings or Stainless Steel roller bearings for my washdown casters?
A: If your casters will be constantly submerged or subjected to continuous high-pressure washing (like in meat processing), Delrin bearings are the best choice as they are made of a highly durable engineered plastic that physically cannot rust. If you need to move extremely heavy loads and require the lowest possible rolling resistance, choose Stainless Steel Roller or Ball bearings and ensure they are regularly greased.
Q: Are these casters suitable for autoclave sterilization?
A: No. While 304 Stainless Steel can handle autoclave heat, Polyurethane and Delrin will melt or deform at autoclave temperatures (typically 250°F+). For autoclaves, we highly recommend our Stainless Steel Casters with High-Temp Phenolic or High-Temp Nylon wheels.
Q: Will the solid polyurethane wheel damage my floors?
A: Absolutely not. Polyurethane is the industry standard for floor protection. It provides the high weight capacity of hard plastic but has enough give to roll smoothly without scratching expensive epoxy, tile, or polished concrete surfaces.
Q: Is 304 Stainless Steel the same as 316 Stainless Steel?
A: 304 SS is highly corrosion-resistant and is the standard for 95% of food and medical applications. 316 SS contains added molybdenum for extreme chloride (salt) resistance. We offer 316 SS as a custom upgrade for specialized marine or extreme chemical applications.
